(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indiana Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association announced the deadline for the Indiana Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) certification regarding the Grandfathering Provisions. Applicants must file under Section 10 (a) or Section 10 (c) to be filed under this provision. Section 10 (a) applications are for current therapists who have practiced massage therapy in Indiana after June 30, 2001 and before July 1, 2009 and either: practiced for two or more years; practiced and completed at least 500 hours; or practiced and graduated from an accredited program. These applicants must show proof of employment. Section 10 (c) applications are for current students who have enrolled in an accredited massage therapy program before July 1, 2007 or completed their program before January 1, 2008. These students MUST submit their applications to be grandfathered into this certification. The Grandfathering Provision Application Deadlines are as follows:
Not submitting your application in a timely manner may affect your ability to legally continue working as a massage therapist. Be certain to copy anything you are sending in for Certification on a legal sized paper. It is necessary to have your documents signed it and notarized as being an authentic copy. If you are submitting a Schedule (c) you do not need to include your income. These deadlines have been updated by the PLA office.
