We will not be hosting Indiana Massage Therapy Awareness Week Feb. 8-11, 2010. While we have enjoyed a 14 year history of offering seated chair massage at the State Capitol Building, it does not appear that we have enough therapists to continue the practice in 2010.

We wish to thank the therapists who have contacted us to volunteer, and all those who have made this wonderful event possible in the past years. It truly is a community effort. We have discovered that some schools are not yet far enough in their curriculum to send their students, and other have a logistical issue.  It also seems that we have many members who are struggling in their business right now, and do not have the time or funds to travel to Indianapolis.

This event has been a very positive opportunity to share the benefits of touch, and we will see what 2011 has to offer as far as possibly resuming Indiana Massage Therapy Awareness Week.

The Indiana Chapter will be encouraging their members to celebrate National Massage Therapy Awareness Week in their communities the week of October 24-30, 2010.
