| SB500 dies this session. |
| Monday, May 2, 2011 |
| Unfortunately, despite a historic passing in the Senate, SB500 did not get a committee hearing in the House. We did try to attach it to another Bill in Committee, but did not succeed.
Thank you to everyone who made a phone call, wrote a note or otherwise contributed to this effort. It is frustrating I know! Another year without the benefits that Licensure |

| Contact information and Regulations for Cosmetology profession |
| Monday, May 2, 2011 |
| We are having complaints and hearing concerns-from all over Indiana- regarding the practice of "massage" by esthiticians and cosmetologists. Upon attending a State Cosmetology Board meeting last year, it became very apparent that this is not only a "gray" area, but something that the Board does not act upon. We were told that they have received no |

| Update on SB500 |
| Tuesday, April 26, 2011 |
| In the final week of the legislature we are still trying to find SB 500, the measure authored by Senator Sue Landske (R-Cedar Lake) that changes massage therapy from a certified profession to a licensed profession, a home in a vehicle in conference committee. Despite a quick start in the Senate Public Policy Committee and a strong 39 -11 vote, the bill’s |

| SB 500 up for a full Senate vote! |
| Saturday, February 12, 2011 |
| Great News for the Profession!
SB500 passed out of the Senate Public Policy Committee Friday! The vote was very promising, and some amendments were made. Overall positive, but we did have to give up on the continuing education option at this time. A secondary fiscal statement estimated that it could cost Indiana $41,000 to implement this, and rather than |
